The Eastern Shore Women's Ministry was birthed as a God-given heartfelt need for the women in our area. The idea was for area churches to work together, pooling ideas and resources, as an enhancement of the individual churches' women's ministry. The Steering Team began in the Fall of 2003, with five members. It is our desire to plan events that will be of interest, meet the needs of today's women, and that will bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We have held five annual conferences, beginning October, 2004. The first Saturday in November then became the date for our conference. We changed from November 2008 to January 2009 and 2010. We will have our next conference in February 2011. We have had as speakers/worship leaders: Linda Anderson, Brenda Davis, Alicia Williamson Garcia, Michelle McKinney Hammond, Mark Harris, Linda Johnson, Deborah Jones (Ms Happiness), Margaret Kennedy, Lois McNair, Babbie Mason, Carmen Mayfield, Fiona Mellett, Pam Parnell, Christine Reese, Rosemary Rhodes, Marjorie Searcy, Eva Self, Priscilla Shirer, Angela Thomas, Tammy Trent, and Mary Whelchel.
We believe that we are doing what God has called us to do, as we have witnessed many lives changed, souls saved, and miracles experienced. We are excited to say that we have put aside our differences, and delight in working together for one common cause of ministry to women.
We became incorporated and approved as a 501c3 in 2008. We are excited about this, as this allows us to accept tax deductible donations to help with ministry costs.
In addition to our annual conference, we have a ministry for pastors' wives, "Shepherds Brides", one for teen girls, "Girl Power," and a prayer ministry, "A Call To Prayer."
